November 21, 2019. The start-up of Enagás, Scale Gas, and the ALZ Group today inaugurated a new supply point for liquefied natural gas (LNG) and compressed natural gas (CNG) at the El Oliveral service station (Riba-roja de Túria, Valencia), near the confluence of the A7 and A3 motorways.
This new point of supply of natural gas for vehicles makes this filling station one of the first in Spain that integrates LNG and CNG as alternative fuels within its service portfolio. Scale Gas has assumed the investment in the installation of natural gas supply and will be responsible for its maintenance, while the ALZ Group will be responsible for the supply of natural gas to users.
The use of LNG and CNG in transport is key to improving air quality and moving towards more sustainable mobility. Natural gas eliminates almost all NOx and SOx contaminant particles. Specifically, it reduces between 80-90% the emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) and about 100% the emissions of sulfur oxides (SOx). In addition, it manages to reduce CO2 emissions by 20-30% compared to traditional fuels.
