June 26, 2024. Public transportation in Lima and Callao, Peru, is experiencing a new milestone in the energy transition with the incorporation of 60 new natural gas-powered buses, which will allow transport, on average, 1,000 people per each unit, benefiting a total of 60 thousand passengers daily.

The units acquired by the Móvil Express Consortium, part of the Lima Bus group, are given through Fraccionamiento GNV, a joint initiative of the Camisea Consortium, operated by Pluspetrol, and Cálidda, which allows financing of up to 45 thousand dollars without interest for each vehicle.

This is the first delivery made through Fraccionamiento GNV, a program supported by a fund of 21 million dollars offered by the Camisea Consortium, with the objective of continuing to promote the massification of natural gas in cargo and passenger transportation in Lima and Callao.

At the delivery, it was highlighted that the acquisition of the 60 CNG buses represents a 100% renewal of the Móvil Express Consortium fleet, which covers the route from San Martín de Porres to Surco, connecting different districts of the capital.
