Tabasco opens modern natural gas station for vehicles

The facility will supply more than 1,500 units that were adapted within the public transport service.

August 28, 2024. The Secretary for Economic Development and Competitiveness of the Mexican State of Tabasco, José Friedrich García Mallitz, representing Governor Carlos Manuel Merino Campos, inaugurated the “Comsustenta Villahermosa” natural gas vehicle (NGV) station, a company that will be able to supply NGV to cars that run on this type of fuel, but especially, to more than 1,500 units (including taxis, vans and Urvans) that have been adapted within the public transport service.

Through a state press release, it was reported that Secretary García Mallitz, together with the Secretary of Mobility, Narciso Oropeza Andrade, and the General Director of the Oser Energía investment group, José María Segura, extended his thanks to the company “for trusting Tabasco and the state as a great destination for investment and legal security.”

The station will help reduce carbon emissions in Tabasco. In short, natural gas represents a security issue for the population, so having this type of fuel is much safer and more economical, and creates conditions to offer more competitive prices for products and services, he emphasized.

Narciso Oropeza said that “Comsustenta Villahermosa” will mean well-being for Tabasco families and substantial improvements for public transport users, since, by helping to reduce fuel costs, it will allow transporters to have resources to increase the quality of the service they provide to citizens.

For his part, José María Segura stressed that Tabasco is today a more modern and more competitive state, which is why “at Oser Energía we feel deeply committed to the sustainable development and growth of our companies in this area”, hence natural gas in the state means an important step towards the energy transition in Tabasco.
