November 24, 2021. In line with its commitment to be a socially responsible company and contribute to improving the environment, Corporativo UNNE announced the acquisition of 11 new trucks powered by compressed natural gas (CNG), which is considered the best sustainable option versus liquid fuels.

With this purchase, it is expected that the service provided by UNNE will be more competitive with respect to the use of diesel units in relation to cost per kilometer and allow a more sustainable and environmentally friendly development of the industry. The new vehicles will be based in the city of Cuautla, in Morelos; serving routes to Veracruz, State of Mexico, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, Saltillo, Monterrey and Guadalajara.

The benefit of these trucks, compared to previous models, is that this technology uses natural gas instead of diesel, which optimizes the use of fuels and reduces the burning of heavy hydrocarbons. This is also an advantage for the environment as they are much cleaner units and significantly reduce emissions of solid particles and greenhouse gases (carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide).

Finally, Corporativo UNNE confirmed that as the infrastructure of CNG filling stations increases on the highways, this type of transport will become increasingly attractive and can continue to be used.
