September 21, 2022. The transport companies that lead the sustainability ranking point to biomethane and hydrogen as the solutions that will play a decisive role in achieving climate goals. This has been revealed during the Green Gas Mobility Summit, a meeting organized by the Iberian Association of Natural Gas for Mobility (Gasnam) that has brought together in Madrid, Spain, more than 50 top-level experts who presented experiences, projects and real cases of use of biomethane and hydrogen in land and sea transportation.
The companies confirm their commitment to renewable gases but also highlight the difficulties they are facing due to the rise in natural gas prices and recall that they resorted to this fuel as the only solution capable of reducing emissions compared to diesel and now they are not receiving any kind of support.
In this regard, the President of Gasnam, Francisco López, recalled that this association has presented a detailed action plan to the Government, which has still not received a response. López has highlighted that the energy crisis is leading to a return to the most polluting fuels and warned that the lack of natural gas buses and trucks would definitively close the door to the use of biomethane.
