September 18, 2023. The City Council of Vigo, Spain, and the concessionaire of the cleaning service in the city, FCC, take another step to modernize their fleet of vehicles with the incorporation of new units throughout this month of September.
These are more sustainable trucks, since they are powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) and replace others that use gasoline, “in such a way that there will be no greenhouse gases with them,” as highlighted by the Mayor Abel Caballero.
In addition, the equipment of municipal services is increased with a high-pressure and hot water stripper, designed for pedestrian areas. It is provided with a re-suction system that allows it to absorb water and removed stains. It also has a water saving system.
A right side loading compactor collector is also incorporated, powered by CNG and with a capacity of 19 cubic meters. It will replace another vehicle with similar characteristics, but powered by diesel.
