March 17, 2023. Iveco delivers 92 S-Way trucks, of which 15 run on natural gas, to the Codognotto Group, a company based in the Italian city of Treviso that deals with transport and logistics.

The supply will be completed in several sections and includes 77 S-Way, model AS440S46T/P, and 15 S-Way LNG, model AS440S46T/P, compatible with biofuels. Natural gas currently represents the only mature solution capable of truly reducing CO2 emissions in the long term and Iveco, with its range of latest generation methane-powered vehicles, is capable of activating a virtuous circle for the environment and for the mission.

In fact, by using biomethane it is possible to achieve a complete circular economy cycle, with a range of up to 1,600 km, a refueling capacity comparable to diesel and a higher payload, factors that allow operators to benefit from the environmental advantages guaranteed by a essential resource to achieve a carbon negativity of up to 121%, as demonstrated by a study prepared by the CNR, promoted by the CIB – Italian Biogas Consortium.

“Liquefied biomethane (Bio-LNG) vehicles today represent a key option in reducing emissions. This technology, along with the expansion of the intermodal offer and the company’s participation in projects related to the use of electricity and hydrogen, are part of Codognotto’s strategy, which aims to decarbonize freight transport and increasingly sustainable logistics”, said Marco Manfredini, General Manager of Operations of the Codognotto Group.
