September 14, 2023. The first natural gas vehicle (NGV) bus for the Ica region was presented in Pisco by the Contugas company and the Camisea Consortium, as part of the incentive program for the acquisition of new units from cargo and passengers transport companies.
During the delivery ceremony, it was explained that the program will finance 30% to 50% of the value of the new vehicle. In addition, benefited companies will have 3 to 5 years to return the total amount without interest.
This financing program is part of the initiatives undertaken by the Camisea Consortium – operated by Pluspetrol – for the massification of natural gas in Peru and is added to the Eco Motor GNV, which provides interest-free financing for the change from diesel engines to natural gas; as well as the Camisea GNV Bonus, which grants between USD 10,000 and USD 15,000 for the purchase of transport units.
Likewise, the Consortium continues its promotion of the “Gas al Cusco” project, which will add a new NGV station and the expansion of the two existing ones in that region; as well as new incentives for the conversion of more cars and buses to natural gas.
