Marcopolo delivers first generation 8 bus powered by biomethane

The vehicle, a Paradiso G8 1050, was manufactured by Marcopolo and features a Scania K340 4x2 Gas chassis, guaranteeing a range of up to 450 km.

January 22, 2026. Marcopolo, a world leader in bus body manufacturing, delivered the first Generation 8 intercity bus powered by biomethane/CNG to operator Pássaro Marron in Brazil.

The vehicle, a Paradiso G8 1050, was manufactured by Marcopolo and features a Scania K340 4×2 Gas chassis, guaranteeing a range of up to 450 km.

“Marcopolo reaffirms its leadership by offering innovative solutions that make public transportation more sustainable and efficient, contributing to the energy transition and decarbonization,” highlighted Ricardo Portolan, Director of Commercial Operations and Marketing for the Domestic Market at Marcopolo.

The Paradiso G8 1050 is 14 meters long and has a capacity for 46 passengers in executive seats with USB A+C power outlets. It features air conditioning, a restroom, and pre-installation for an audio and video system with Wi-Fi. Equipped with a 340 hp Otto cycle engine, it uses six type 1 cylinders with a total capacity of 720 liters. Fueled by biomethane, it reduces CO2 emissions by 90%.

In addition to the biomethane-powered Paradiso G8 1050, Marcopolo supplied the operator with 66 other buses in 2025: 37 long-distance units—Paradiso G8 1200, Paradiso G8 1050, and Viaggio G8 800 models; and 29 Torino city buses, with Mercedes-Benz OF1726L chassis, equipped with air conditioning, four security cameras, Taraflex flooring, USB Type-A and Type-C ports at every seat, and Wi-Fi to offer maximum comfort, connectivity, and accessibility.

All vehicles also feature accessibility devices for passengers with reduced mobility.
