Discount for taxi drivers with CNG vehicles in Lima, Callao, and Ica

The Ministry of Energy and Mines of Peru announced that a discount of S/ 120 is now available for taxi drivers.

March 30, 2026. The Ministry of Energy and Mines of Peru announced that a discount of S/ 120 is now available for taxi drivers with vehicles running on compressed natural gas (CNG) registered with the Urban Transport Authority (ATU) or the provincial municipalities of Ica. This is part of the extraordinary measures implemented by the Government to mitigate the impact of restrictions following the energy emergency experienced in March.

To access the benefit, drivers must have a valid taxi license as of March 9, 2026, and possess a Single Circulation Card (TUC).

The discount, which will be applied to CNG fuel purchases, will be administered through the system of the Development Finance Corporation (COFIDE). Once the information is validated, the user must select a single filling station where they will use the discount. Once registration is complete, starting on the third business day, the user can go to the station to access the benefit.

The system is automatic; each time the taxi driver refuels, they will not need to make any payments, as the amount consumed will be deducted from the S/ 120.

This benefit can be used until December 31, 2026, and applies to all authorized taxi drivers, including those who have already completed payment for their CNG conversion or who financed said conversion through mechanisms other than the Energy Social Inclusion Fund (FISE).
