Maier Bros transports film equipment with CNG trucks

The German film equipment rental company has purchased six trucks in the 7.2 and 12-ton weight classes that run on CNG.

August 8, 2021. The German film equipment rental company, Maier Bros GmbH, is currently investing in a more environmentally friendly vehicle fleet and has purchased six trucks in the 7.2 and 12-ton weight classes that run on compressed natural gas (CNG).

One of the 7.2 ton units has already been in use since April 2021 and is currently being used for the Seven Elephants film “Sun and Concrete”. Before that, it had already proven its worth in everyday use in the Unafilm productions “The Including Society” of Bantry Bay and “Angst und Gier”, explains Maier Bros.

“For years we have approached our car rental companies asking for CNG trucks. After getting no answers, we have taken matters into our own hands. We want to do something now and not wait until the corresponding electric or hybrid trucks are available in the future,” says CEO Niels Maier, explaining the decision.
