May 16, 2022. La Poste continues to bet on natural gas. Following the launch of a first filling station at a postal site in Chelles (Seine-et-Marne) in 2021, the French group announces the deployment of 8 new Bio-NGV facilities. Distributed across the company’s various industrial platforms, they will be used both to supply La Poste’s internal fleet and that of its carrier partners. The works will take place between 2023 and 2025.
For La Poste, the investment in its 8 biogas refueling stations is part of a €400 million plan aimed at supporting the transition of its fleet and that of its partners.
In addition to NGV, the group intends to invest in other technologies. La Poste plans, in particular, to double its fleet of electric vehicles by acquiring an additional 8,000 utility units and deploying 1,000 cargo bikes to complement the existing 125.
Investments are also planned in the heavy duty sector with the acquisition of electric and hydrogen trucks. Switching to XTL biofuel is another alternative planned before the end of 2021 with projects announced in Île-de-France, New Aquitaine, Burgundy, Franche-Comté, Lyon and PACA.
