The Region of Apulia, Italy, has acquired through a CONSIP Framework Agreement for a total of 45.8 million euros, with resources from the National Complementary Plan to PNRR DM 315/21, precisely 90 medium-length units Otokar Europe S.a.S. and 58 long vehicles Iveco S.p.A. that will be assigned to the municipalities belonging to each ATO to replace as a priority the Euro 2 environmental class buses, circulating and used for LPT, and also Euro 3 to partially cover the needs communicated based on complete data that will be provided by the provinces and the metropolitan city of Bari, which will then transfer the vehicles to the municipalities with the right of usufruct to the corresponding public transport companies with regular and current service contracts.

“We are moving forward with the objective of removing Euro 2 buses used for the TPL service from circulation, as indicated by national legislation that requires their mandatory replacement before 2024 – explains the Councilor for Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Anita Marodinoia. We will supply municipalities with long and medium-length buses with low environmental impact, equipped with the most modern security and control systems in motion and in the vehicle, accessible for people with disabilities, for a safer and more modern trip, as well as sustainable. The renewal of the fleet is an important commitment that this administration has assumed and is executing thanks to the collaboration of transport companies and local authorities.”
