September 24, 2025. The Mayor of Valladolid, Jesús Julio Carnero, presented the new buses that are beginning service in the city as part of the AUVASA fleet in the Plaza Mayor of Valladolid, Spain. These are six 18-meter, high-capacity articulated buses supplied by Solaris Bus Ibérica as part of the framework agreement for the acquisition of buses powered by compressed natural gas (CNG), which involved an investment of €3,102,924 (VAT included).
These vehicles have engines that comply with Euro 6E emissions regulations, so their low levels of polluting emissions earn them the ECO environmental seal.
Measuring 18 meters in length and with a 3-door body, their high capacity (135 passengers) allows for a dynamic flow of passengers, offering a high level of service with optimal levels of quality and ride comfort.
As with the rest of the fleet, they have a low floor and lateral tilt functionality for easier vehicle access for users. The interior features LED lighting technology and climate control systems with antiviral filters and an air curtain in the doors, as well as the latest technology to support ergonomic driving.
Among its accessibility features are double space for wheelchair users, reserved seats for people with reduced mobility, a dual ramp (manual and automatic) for wheelchair access, and onboard information systems with two ultra-widescreen displays.
Aspects such as ergonomics and safety are essential for the driving staff, who also have driver assistance systems in these vehicles that warn them of obstacles on the road, among other things, allowing for a safer journey and avoiding accidents and collisions with other vehicles, especially pedestrians and cyclists.
These six new buses allow AUVASA to increase its fleet from 153 vehicles to 156, as three of the newly introduced buses will replace three more polluting diesel vehicles.
