Baleària presents its LNG ship that covers the route between Huelva and the Canary Islands

March 4, 2020. Baleària & Fred. Olsen Express has brought together about 35 representatives of travel agencies from Huelva and Seville at an event aboard the Marie Curie gas smart ship, which connects the Huelva port with the Canary Islands, Spain. The travel agents have been able to visit and check in first person all the services offered by the ferry, among which the entertainment and the wide gastronomic offer stand out, in addition to the new accommodation for pets in cabins.

They have also been able to learn about Baleària’s commitment to the use of natural gas, a cleaner energy that reduces greenhouse emissions and improves air quality, completely eliminating sulfur emissions and harmful particles for health. In this regard, it should be noted that this ferry is newly built and began sailing last summer.

In addition, the Marie Curie smart ship offers technological innovations, including access to the ship and cabin with QR code, an on-demand entertainment service through a digital platform that can be accessed from the mobile; it also has a video surveillance system for the pet area, free WhatsApp during the entire trip, smart TV in the cabins and Wi-Fi connection.

The Marie Curie, 168 meters long, has a capacity for 880 people, 169 vehicles and more than 2,000 linear meters of cargo. It has different seats and cabins, children’s area, shop, cafeteria, self-service, à la carte restaurant and hot tubs on the outside deck.
