May 9, 2024. The leading Czech supplier of alternative fuels Bonett enters the Slovak market with its brand. At the beginning of the year, Bonett launched two compressed natural gas (CNG) refueling stations in Bratislava and Prešov. The company plans further expansion in the future.
Bonett has so far operated in Slovakia as a supplier of CNG, LNG and LPG stations for other distributors, implementing dozens of filling stations for them. In 2023, the company completed three high-capacity L-CNG stations in Trnava, Prešov and Brodské for SPP. With the opening of its own CNG refueling stations, Bonett is building on its success in the Czech market, where it operates a network of 52 stations under its own brand.
“Our own network throughout the Czech Republic has provided us with valuable know-how in emission reduction and the sale of alternative fuels with a lower emission footprint than fossil fuels. We are looking to carry this knowledge over to other markets. Thanks to its geographical and historical proximity, Slovakia logically represents a suitable market for both the development of an international network and the supply of biomethane with a lower emission footprint for corporate or state-owned enterprises,” says Václav Holovčák, Board Member of the Bonett Group.
Natural gas is more environmentally friendly than petrol or diesel as it allows for significant reductions in transport emissions. Compared to diesel engines, it produces 95% less particulate emissions, 90% less nitrogen oxide emissions and 30% less CO2 emissions. Vehicles operated on natural gas are also 30% quieter. In addition to the considerable environmental benefits, it also offers other advantages, such as reduced road taxation for cars using this type of fuel. The biomethane sold at Bonett stations in the Czech Republic makes it possible to further reduce transport emissions by millions of kilograms of CO2.
