August 16, 2025. Committed to innovation and sustainability, Changan Auto, represented in Peru by Inchcape—a leading global automotive group—announced the incorporation of a natural gas vehicle (NGV) system in its Alsvin sedan, a more economical and environmentally friendly fuel option that promotes a cleaner and more efficient future for mobility.
Among the many advantages of converting to NGV, fuel savings stand out, which can reach up to approximately 60%, given that it costs much less than diesel or gasoline. It also extends engine life as it is a clean fuel, reducing carbon buildup and internal wear.
Furthermore, the dual-fuel system allows drivers to use both NGV and gasoline, offering greater flexibility depending on fuel availability or the distance traveled. Similarly, natural gas emits fewer polluting gases, helping to reduce environmental pollution.
For now, this conversion will only be offered to new Alsvin vehicles requesting the dual-fuel system in Lima and Callao. Units will receive support from an authorized workshop and the NGV technical team. Customers will also be provided with a detailed instruction and warranty manual, which will facilitate the proper and safe use of the NGV equipment.
It should be noted that for an Alsvin vehicle to be eligible for conversion, it must undergo a general inspection and evaluation at one of the authorized workshops to validate the feasibility of installing the NGV system in the vehicle.
