February 8, 2025. Starting next March 30, the new Jorge Chávez International Airport will begin its operations, and travelers, workers or citizens in general will be able to access the modern air terminal through the “AeroDirecto” public transportation service, promoted by the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) of Peru through the Urban Transport Authority (ATU).
The service will have five routes that will connect different areas of Lima and Callao with the new airport.
The buses will be easy to identify, since they will be painted white and will have the logo and name of the route on both sides and on the front.
All “AeroDirecto” vehicles will run on compressed natural gas (CNG) or will be electric, and will be more than 8 meters long. They will also be less than 10 years old.
They will also be equipped with internal cameras, illuminated panels for the route code, as well as loudspeaker announcement systems for stops and real-time monitoring.
Travelers will be able to carry only backpacks or small hand luggage without restrictions.
Unlike the current public service units, the “AeroDirecto” buses will arrive directly inside the new Jorge Chávez International Airport.
