June 21, 2021. The commercial vehicle rental company Covey has reached a collaboration agreement with the mineral water distributor Aquaservice to make available, via renting, 15 vehicles powered by compressed natural gas (CNG), which will serve to expand its sustainable distribution in Madrid, Valencia and Alicante, Spain. These trucks have a system designed to reduce CO2 emissions and generate lower noise emission levels. Thanks to these characteristics, they have ECO labels and, therefore, can access the interior of cities at any time, even with restrictions due to high pollution.

From Aquaservice, its CEO, Alberto Gutiérrez, assures that the expansion of the company’s natural gas vehicle fleet represents another step in its sustainable mobility strategy. “Currently, we have the largest fleet with ECO labeling destined for delivery weighing more than 3.5 tons,” he explains.

For his part, the Commercial Director of Covey, Fernando Sánchez, has commented that the commitment to natural gas for vehicles is “the best alternative to traditional fuels, both for reducing emissions and for costs.”

According to Covey and Aquaservice calculations, delivery trucks will emit up to 5% less pollutant emissions into the atmosphere, an amount that increases to 95% of CO2 with the use of biomethane. In addition, the transmission with automatic transmission and the natural gas engine allow to emit 76% less particles in suspension than the diesel version.
