DHL Supply Chain incorporates 20 Shacman natural gas trucks

DHL Supply Chain presented the new range of transport that is incorporated into its service, consisting of 20 Shacman X3000 trucks with CNG engines that will be used between Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey.

April 29, 2022. DHL Supply Chain presented the new range of transport that is incorporated into its service, consisting of 20 Shacman X3000 trucks with compressed natural gas (CNG) engines that will be used between Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey.

Juan Carlos Aderman, DHL Supply Chain Vice President of Latin American Transportation, recalled that although the company, by regulation, cannot own units, the service is managed through business partners, with whom these vehicles operate.

Aderman explained that these 20 trucks are added to the fleet that services them and that is made up of eight hybrid vehicles, 114 last-mile diesel units and electric motorcycles.

The businessman, who pointed out that they work with all sectors of the industry in Mexico, such as chemical, industrial, pharmaceutical, consumer, automotive and technology, assured that DHL Supply Chain has a range of transportation solutions for its clients, among which is Lead Logistics Partner (LLP) and Connected Control Tower.

Alejandro Echeverri, Director of Control Tower for Mexico and operations leader of Transporte para México, announced the incorporation of the 20 Shacman natural gas vehicles into his service. He detailed that they have a range of between 900 to 1,200 kilometers with a charge and offer a 50% decrease in emissions compared to a diesel unit. In addition, the load capacity is 20 to 22 tons.

“They are units with state-of-the-art technology, a European prototype, the cabin is light, reinforced; we have a high-efficiency European engine, of course with gas combustion,” he said.
