November 16, 2025. Disney Cruise Line held the christening and naming ceremony for its new cruise ship, Disney Destiny, on the evening of November 10, 2025, at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, which will serve as the vessel’s year-round homeport.
Disney Destiny is a Wish-class, also referenced as Triton-class, ship built by Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany, and was handed over to Disney Cruise Line in October 2025. It is powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) and is the company’s third LNG-fueled vessel after Disney Wish and Disney Treasure. The ship measures roughly 340 meters in length and 39 meters in beam, has a gross tonnage of about 144,000 GT and capacity for up to 4,000 passengers, entering the fleet as its seventh ship.
Disney Destiny’s maiden voyage is scheduled for November 20, 2025. The ship will operate four- and five-night itineraries from Port Everglades to The Bahamas and the Western Caribbean with calls at Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.
