November 15, 2024. Iveco Bus continues to reaffirm its commitment to sustainable mobility and technological innovation in public transport with the delivery through its Overbus dealer of compressed natural gas (CNG) buses for the City of Córdoba, Argentina.
The acquired units will be used for short and medium distance urban transport through the company Tamse, whose purpose is to improve the user experience and streamline the general operation of transport in the province.
This delivery marks two key milestones: on the one hand, it introduces the first CNG buses for urban transport in Córdoba, constituting a significant step towards more sustainable public mobility options. In addition, these vehicles have a local perspective since they are manufactured at the Iveco Bus production plant in the same city where they will be used, which underlines the brand’s commitment to national production.
The management of these units will be carried out through Tamse, the government-run public transport company that operates passenger lines in Córdoba. The company has its own service station in the city, which includes an island for refueling with CNG, which allows it to supply heavy vehicles with a high capacity, guaranteeing efficient and rapid refueling. In addition to this infrastructure, the company has identified other service stations in the city where its buses will also be able to refuel with CNG, thus ensuring the flexible operation of the fleet and with complete coverage at strategic points.
