First Bio-CNG powered school bus for Normandy

The Normandy Region and the EPIC Normand De Transports Publics Routier have just inaugurated their first coach that runs on Bio-NGV.

January 25, 2022. In Normandy, school transport is switching to biogas. Engaged in a process of renewing the school bus fleet with units powered by natural gas for vehicles (NGV), the Normandy Region and the EPIC Normand De Transports Publics Routier (ENTPR) have just inaugurated their first coach that runs on Bio-NGV.

With a capacity of 30 seats and operated by Nomad car Orne, this vehicle is designed on the basis of an Iveco Daily. It will be used to transport students living in St Grevais du Perron, Vingt Hanaps and Neauphe on probation to Sées high schools and colleges. It will also transfer students enrolled in primary school in the educational establishments of St Grevais du Perron, Vingt Hanaps. It will refuel at the Valframbert CNG station, managed by the Orne Energy Syndicate (TE 61).

“A coach that runs on Bio-NGV produces 3.7 tons of CO2/year, compared to 19 tons of CO2/year for a similar diesel”, which estimates that this change will save up to 15 tons of CO2/year.
