February 8, 2026. Prato della Valle has become a benchmark for sustainable mobility: the official presentation ceremony for six of the 22 new MAN Lion’s City 19C G natural gas buses took place in the heart of Padua’s iconic piazza, in Italy.
The 18.73-meter vehicles, all low-floor intercity versions, were presented to local authorities and residents at an official event in the center of Padua.
During the official ceremony, it was emphasized that the choice of natural gas buses represents a significant step towards the decarbonization of local public transport. Thanks to the MAN E1856 LOH03 six-cylinder engine with 235 kW of power, the units combine high performance with a significant reduction in emissions, thus making a tangible contribution to improving air quality in urban areas. The stoichiometric fuel injection system, combined with the EGR system and the three-way catalytic converter, ensures exceptionally efficient and clean operation, while the five 1,875-liter fuel tanks provide ample range for the high-demand intercity services typical of the region.
In terms of comfort and safety, the new vehicles set the standard in their class. The self-supporting structure with cataphoretic treatment guarantees robustness and durability, while the interiors feature cushioned seats, 45 kW and 80 kW air conditioning, and a full suite of ADAS devices, including forward collision warning, blind spot monitoring, traffic sign recognition, driver attention monitoring, and a tire pressure monitoring system.
Equally important is the quality of the driving experience: the driver benefits from an ergonomic workstation with an air-suspension seat, variable-ratio steering, and a six-speed automatic transmission with integrated hydraulic retarder. The fifth wheel with electronic tilt control ensures optimal maneuverability even in the most challenging situations.
