FPT highlights CNG engine production in Argentina during 2025

FPT closes the year with a strong performance, marked by the Argentine production of natural gas engines, the strengthening of its presence in Latin America, and strategic alliances.

December 18, 2025. FPT, an Iveco Group brand recognized globally for its sustainable and high-performance propulsion solutions, closes the year with a strong performance, marked by the Argentine production of natural gas engines, the strengthening of its presence in Latin America, and strategic alliances.

In Latin America, FPT engine sales increased by more than 20% compared to the year-to-date figures for the third quarter of 2024, reflecting sustained growth and increased demand for its technological solutions.

“2025 was a year of sustained growth and strategic decisions that are preparing FPT for an even more competitive future. Every advance—from expanding our portfolio to boosting exports—reflects the talent of our teams and the commitment of the entire network. We are building a more efficient, innovative industry aligned with the challenges of the energy transition, and 2026 finds us better prepared than ever to continue leading the way,” said Carlos Tavares, President of FPT in Latin America.

Undoubtedly, one of the most significant events of the year was the start of natural gas engine production at the Córdoba plant, marking a turning point in FPT’s history in Argentina. The NEF 60 NG, NEF 67 NG, and CURSOR 13 NG models were the stars of this launch, which inaugurates a new production technology in the country and reinforces the brand’s multi-energy strategy.

To develop this new product line, FPT invested €1.5 million, as part of a plan that allocates over €20 million to Research and Development (R&D) in Brazil and Argentina between 2026 and 2030.

Regionally, the N60 CNG engine has begun equipping the MA 11.0 CNG chassis from vehicle manufacturer Agrale, strengthening FPT’s presence in sustainable mobility solutions for transportation.
