August 16, 2023. Natural gas distributor GasNet has launched a new liquefied natural gas (LNG) fueling station for trucks in the Czech Republic. The facility is located in Jazlovice, near the Czech capital Prague.
Besides this station, GasNet has LNG fueling stations in Nyrany, Mlada Boleslav, Klecany, as well as the LNG station located in the South Bohemian town of Kaplice.
The firm operates five LNG fueling stations in the Czech Republic and plans to build more due to growing demand for LNG as fuel in the transport sector.
Compared to conventional options, LNG “boasts a remarkable 20 percent reduction in CO2 emissions and a staggering 70 percent drop in NOx emissions,” GasNet said.
The firm said its network is “fully primed for the future of sustainable energy with liquefied biomethane, or Bio-LNG, boasting a game-changing 95 percent reduction in emissions when measured against diesel.”
