Gasum’s new filling station in Finnish city of Raseborg has been opened

The new biogas station will support low-emission cargo traffic through the Port of Hanko.

February 25, 2026. Gasum has opened a new biogas filling station in Raseborg. The station serves both passenger and heavy-duty transport, as the station can be used to refuel with both liquefied (LBG) and compressed (CBG) biogas.

The new station is located along the Hanko road, at the address Mekaanikontie 10.

“The station responds to the wishes of customers and partners and strengthens Gasum’s long-term work to build a Nordic biogas filling network. The Raseborg station will support the busy cargo traffic of the Port of Hanko in particular, enabling low-emission transports on important routes,” says Juho Kurra, Head of Business, Traffic Finland, Gasum.

The Port of Hanko is the third largest commercial port in Finland and one of the most significant Finnish hubs for international maritime transport. About 1,000 heavy vehicles pass through the port every day, exporting forest industry products and importing cars, for example.

The port, which offers the fastest route to Europe, is also very important from the perspective of Finland’s security of supply.

The Port of Hanko’s own operations are nowadays carbon neutral, as the first port in Finland. The Port’s own ambitious emission reductions also aim to encourage other logistics operators in the area to reduce their emissions.

“It is essential for the port that vehicles using all different fuels can easily get to Hanko, including gas trucks. The biogas filling station in the vicinity of the port is important for competitiveness and promoting the green transition,” says Anders Ahlvik, CEO, Port of Hanko.
