June 16, 2021. Anadolu Isuzu’s eco-friendly Kendo bus has been named among the finalists for the Sustainable Bus Award, recognized as one of the most prestigious awards in the international commercial vehicle industry, in the “Bus Of The Year” category. Kendo has been developed by Turkish engineers from Anadolu Isuzu R&D Center as an economical and environmentally friendly solution, and is intended to serve especially as a staff and school transport bus. Green Kendo, born as a result of Anadolu Isuzu’s R&D capabilities and ambitions, was launched on the European market in September.

The Kendo is powered by a compressed natural gas (CNG) engine according to European standards and is one of the few 12-13 meter long distance models. It is also the first in the segment in Turkey and the third in Europe in terms of its specifications. With an environmentally friendly CNG engine, it is designed for long-distance urban and short-distance interurban transport. Standing out from the competition’s similar models with 7.5 m3 of luggage space, it offers comfort and functionality on par with luxury coaches. Equipped with Anadolu Isuzu intelligent safety technologies and with features such as driver scoring via the multi-function panel and self-diagnosis, the Kendo offers the best package of its size in terms of spaces for the driver and passengers, guaranteeing a comfortable and ergonomic ride.

In addition to a standard version with maximum seating capacity, the Kendo CNG is also available with the option of folding seats in the center section to create a larger area for standing and wheelchair use.
