October 17, 2025. The presentation of the new Kamaz-52229 tourist bus powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) took place at the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum, Russia.
The Kamaz-52229 tourist bus on CNG is demonstrated for the first time. The new product was developed by Kamaz engineers in cooperation with Gazprom specialists. The bus belongs to the latest generation – A5. The number of seats is 47. At the same time, the driver’s seat is equipped with an air suspension, a three–point seat belt, adjustable headrest and armrest, heated and equipped with sensors for presence and a fastened belt. There is also a sleeping place for the driver. The bus is equipped with video surveillance and climate control systems, as well as the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). There is a kitchen unit with a refrigerator and a toilet.
For the comfort and convenience of passengers, individual service units are located in the cabin, the seats are upholstered with seat belt sensors, USB chargers, armrests and folding tables, with a shift into the aisle and tilt adjustment of the backs. There is a luggage compartment with a volume of at least three cubic meters, while hand luggage can also be placed on shelves above the seats, so passengers have constant access to personal belongings.
The bus is equipped with a Kamaz gas power unit with a capacity of 235 kW and a robotic gearbox. Gas cylinders with a total volume of 1,110 liters are located on the roof of the bus, providing a range of at least 500 km. To increase safety, gas leak sensors are installed in the engine compartment, in the place of the gas cylinders and in the engine compartment.
