October 7, 2020. The Turkish company Karsan has won a tender for the supply of thirteen 12-meter compressed natural gas (CNG) Citymood buses for the Bulgarian city of Pernik. The vehicles will be delivered in the first half of 2021.
The contract in Pernik will not be the first in the history of the Bosphorus company. Previously, together with its local dealer, Bulbus Trade, it sold the Jest and Atak series vehicles, but this agreement is the first for 12-meter buses.
As emphasized by Muzaffer Arpacıoğlu, deputy general manager of Karsan, it was the previous contracts and the successful cooperation with the Bulgarian side, which allowed the introduction of larger buses in the local market.
Karsan says its 12-meter Citymood powered city bus offers low fuel consumption, low operating costs and provides great driver comfort. The low-floor vehicle is powered by a 7.8-liter CNG Citymood FPT Cursor 8 engine generating power of up to 243 kW and maximum torque of 1,300 Nm.
