June 12, 2023. The new four garbage collection trucks, which run on compressed natural gas (CNG), are already operating through the streets of Leganés, Spain, expanding the fleet of municipal vehicles for this service. With them, the aim is to continue improving and modernizing waste collection, incorporating more efficient and environmentally friendly units.
The trucks, in which the City Council has invested 1.351.100 euros, have a box with a nominal capacity of more than 24.000 liters, made of sheet steel and selected for each type of work based on its elastic limit, load of breakage, anti-abrasion and wear, according to municipal sources.
They are vehicles that will make collection more efficient and that incorporate regulations regarding the noise level, which significantly reduces noise disturbances during work. They have incorporated the DGT ECO distinctive and stand out for their occupational risk prevention system, in addition to prioritizing road safety, guaranteeing the rest and safety of operators and residents.
