Modasa delivered 34 Titán Urbano model buses powered by natural gas for vehicles to the El Rápido Transport Company.

July 19, 2024. Modasa, a manufacturer of transportation solutions in Peru, delivered 34 Titán Urbano model buses powered by natural gas for vehicles (NGV) to the El Rápido Transport Company. This second delivery of the year is added to the previous one of 25 units made in April, reaching a total of 59 vehicles delivered so far in 2024.

“With 47 years of experience in the market, Modasa has been leading the transformation of urban transportation in Peru towards an environmentally responsible system,” said Miguel Schmiel, Commercial Director of Modasa.

El Rápido’s new fleet is designed to significantly improve the efficiency and sustainability of urban transportation. Equipped with cutting-edge technology, these vehicles significantly reduce CO2 emissions, contributing to the protection of the environment.

“At El Rápido, we are committed to the continuous improvement and sustainable growth of our transportation service. In this process, having Modasa as our strategic ally has been crucial in our path towards more efficient and safe transportation,” said Erika Enriquez, General Manager of El Rápido.

The acquisition of these buses is part of the GNV Fractionation program, an initiative promoted by the Camisea Consortium and Cálidda.

“At Cálidda we are extremely committed to the renewal of the vehicle fleet in Lima and Callao. It is important that more vehicles in the transportation sector look for environmentally friendly and economical alternatives; therefore, we welcome the efforts of Modasa and El Rápido with these new buses that use natural gas, a cheap, safe and efficient fuel,” said Jaime Aguilar, Deputy Manager of Heavy Transportation for the company.

“At Camisea, within the framework of our 20 years of operation, we reaffirm our commitment to sustainability with this delivery of buses, carried out through the Camisea GNV Financing program that modernizes public transportation in Lima and Callao, and promotes a cleaner and more efficient future, demonstrating the economic and environmental benefits of natural gas for vehicles,” concluded Lucas Florestano, Manager of Large Clients at Pluspetrol.
