May 19, 2020. The Brazilian company RACLI Limpieza Urbana is looking for less polluting fuels for the service. The pilot project is currently being developed with natural gas as an alternative to diesel. “Fuel is essential for the work we do. That is why we are now beginning this project with the first truck converted from diesel to natural gas. From now on, we will be able to verify the numbers and longevity of the equipment and, with that, study the possibility of extending this initiative,” explains the executive director of the RAC Group, Rodolfo Back Loch.
With the start of the project, the economy linked to profitability, the analysis of the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the reduction of noise emitted by the truck will be evaluated, in addition to providing an investment to improve the quality of life of the population, and in the search for efficiency in the provision of services in a sustainable manner, without losing their quality.
“Grupo RAC is working on an initiative to convert biogas from the landfill located in Içara to biomethane. It is a step that requires large investments and that will enable us to use this biomethane as fuel in vehicles, especially in the company’s truck fleet,” says the businessman.
