September 18, 2025. Scania presented its new range of natural gas engines in Argentina, led by the OC13 engine, which represents an evolutionary leap in its Green Efficiency truck lineup. Available in two power versions (420 hp and 460 hp, with torques of 2,100 Nm and 2,300 Nm, respectively), this new platform guarantees greater performance, lower fuel consumption, and a positive impact on the autonomy of transport operations.
“We are extremely proud to expand our range of gas solutions in Argentina, because they represent a real and available alternative to advance the decarbonization of transport,” said Sebastián Figueroa, CEO of Scania Argentina. He added: “With more power, better performance, and the possibility of operating on biomethane, we are taking a key step toward helping our customers reduce costs and emissions without sacrificing reliability.”
The new OC13 engine features the G25 transmission, which improves performance across the entire rev range, and an optimized electronic management system that reduces internal losses and improves ignition and injection efficiency. This redesign results in a 6% fuel consumption saving.
Furthermore, the new engines comply with the Euro 6 standard and strengthen the entry point for the use of biomethane, an alternative that can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 90% and which Scania is promoting alongside various stakeholders in the transport ecosystem: freight forwarders, fuel suppliers, and government agencies.
