February 25, 2023. Iveco delivers 15 S-WAY LNG trucks to Spezzano Trasporti, an Italian company that deals with transport and logistics with an environmentally conscious approach.

For the occasion, Spezzano Trasporti and Iveco presented the commercial strategy linked to biomethane, a technologically mature and available resource that can be used throughout the brand’s range. The round table, made up of different specialists in the sector, had green gas as its central theme, the use of which allows a reduction of more than 121% of CO2, as shown by a study prepared by the National Research Council (CNR), promoted by the Italian Biogas Consortium (CIB). It is the only technology capable of achieving carbon negativity with a range of 1,600 km, a refueling capacity comparable to diesel and a higher payload.

Specifically, considering the real consumption based on the telematics with which the vehicles are equipped and taking into account the kilometers traveled by the Iveco S-WAY LNG of Spezzano Trasporti over the course of a year, added to the 15 vehicles that are delivering, it appears that when traveling with biomethane carbon neutrality is achieved with more than 2,400 tons of CO2 per year, the equivalent absorbed by more than 160,000 trees.

The new trucks will be used for the transport of food at controlled temperatures throughout the Italian and European territory. The vehicles are equipped with a 460 hp Cursor 13 engine and the Driving Comfort Plus package, which includes automatically controlled climate control, and an infotainment system with navigation, the latest technology from Connectivity Box.
