July 30, 2024. In the metropolis of Aix-Marseille Provence, the Suez group recently inaugurated a private station in La Ciotat to refuel its fleet of household waste containers powered by natural gas. A deployment carried out by the teams of Tokheim Service Group (TSG).
Presented as “a first for Suez in France”, this station will be used to supply more than ten natural gas vehicles intended to ensure waste collection in the municipalities of La Ciotat, Carnoux-en-Provence, Cassis, Ceyreste, Gémenos and Roquefort-la-Bédoule.
“This new initiative is fully in line with our commitment to reducing the carbon footprint of our activities, in particular by accelerating the development of more sustainable mobility using alternative fuels to fossil fuels,” explained David Lamy, Suez Recycling Director in France.
The installation of the station, which represented an investment of 400,000 euros, was entrusted to the teams of TSG, specialists in multi-energy dispensing stations. Purely private, the facility has two 40 Nm3/h compressors, i.e. 80 Nm3/h in total, a fast-loading arm and 24 80-litre cylinders guaranteeing a total storage capacity of 1,920 litres at 270 bar.
