November 7, 2023. The Can Calderón eco-area in Sant Boi de Llobregat (Barcelona, Spain) has inaugurated its third compressed natural gas (CNG) dispenser to promote the use of less polluting fuels. It is the only place in the municipality that offers this alternative and is used in the fleet of vehicles intended for cleaning and collecting waste. The municipal space, which had two pumps since 2021, has evolved to provide services to the transportation sector.
The Can Calderón eco area is the only one in the municipality that offers this type of fuel and one of the points with the greatest service capacity in the area. Sant Boi uses CNG as part of the greening of the fleet of vehicles used for daily cleaning and selective waste collection. Natural gas is a more sustainable alternative to conventional fossil fuels such as gasoline or diesel.
The municipal space of the Can Calderón eco-area was initially a truck parking lot but has been incorporating other services aimed at the transport sector.
