April 23, 2025. Toyota do Brasil will be present at the 30th edition of Agrishow, one of the world’s largest agricultural technology fairs, taking place from April 28 to May 2 in Ribeirão Preto (SP). With a 1,700 m² exhibition space, the brand will showcase to the public for the first time the prototype of the country’s first biomethane-powered pickup truck, in addition to bringing its full product line to the fair, including vehicles with flex hybrid technology, developed by Toyota in Brazil.
The biomethane-powered Hilux reinforces the brand’s commitment to research and development of new technologies with the goal of accelerating the decarbonization of mobility through the use of biofuels. The unprecedented model had only been demonstrated at the G20 Energy Transition Week in Foz do Iguaçu (PR), before authorities and experts.
Biomethane is a renewable fuel derived from biogas, which can be produced from any organic material, including sugarcane. It is, therefore, a fuel with high potential, as it can be generated in biodigesters in rural areas or even in large sugar mills.
“Toyota’s history is characterized by its pioneering and evolution in the development of new technologies. We were pioneers in hybrids and flexible hybrids, in line with the challenges of decarbonization. Now, with the Hilux biomethane prototype, we reaffirm our commitment to more sustainable mobility, connected to the country’s vocations and generating a positive impact on the environment and society,” emphasizes Evandro Maggio, President of Toyota do Brasil.
