November 30, 2025. The Pfenning Group, a comprehensive supply chain solutions provider for German SMEs in the Rhein-Neckar metropolitan region, is expanding its fleet of over 1,000 vehicles with 16 new S-Way compressed natural gas (CNG) tractor units and four interchangeable body chassis.
The units are AS440S50T/FP model, which refers to a standard 4×2 tractor unit with full air suspension, a technically permissible gross vehicle weight of 20 tons, an ActiveSpace cab with a high roof, and a 500 hp xCursor 13 engine that complies with Euro VI E emissions standards, powered by CNG. Four gas tanks with a total gravimetric capacity of 190 kilograms are mounted on each side, enabling a range of up to 800 kilometers.
The order also includes four 3-axle Iveco S-Way CNG chassis, AS260S50Y/FS-CM model. These are interchangeable 6×2 chassis with full air suspension, a wheelbase of 4,800 millimeters, and a technically permissible gross vehicle weight of 26 tons. The cab, engine, and gas tanks are identical to those of the tractor units.
