OG Clean Fuels revolutionizes the market by offering Bio-CNG at a price below diesel

Starting January 1, 2026, driving with sustainable Bio-CNG will not only be cleaner, but also more economical than diesel.

December 21, 2025. Starting January 1, 2026, driving with sustainable Bio-CNG will not only be cleaner, but also more economical than diesel. OG Clean Fuels is structurally reducing the national recommended retail price at the pump from €1.85 to €1.49 per kilogram. This is not a temporary discount, but a stable price that provides stability in a market where diesel is increasingly unpredictable. For carriers with long-term contracts, the price can be even lower.

With this measure, OG Clean Fuels offers the transport sector exactly what it needs: lower costs, predictable fuel prices, and a significant reduction in CO2 emissions. This makes Bio-CNG not only a cleaner alternative, but also a more economically attractive alternative to diesel.

Bio-CNG is produced from organic waste, such as manure and organic waste. This results in a CO2 reduction of at least 90% by preventing emissions that would otherwise be released directly into the atmosphere.

“We are seeing a strong transition to Bio-CNG as a transport fuel for large carriers across Europe. Thanks to multi-year pricing agreements, we can now offer a competitive price and a structurally lower TCO than diesel,” says Johan Bloemsma, Managing Director of OG Clean Fuels Netherlands. “In Germany, large companies like DHL Group and Amazon are already adopting Bio-CNG on a massive scale, and we have even installed stations directly at their facilities.”

In July 2026, the truck tax will come into effect in the Netherlands, making it more expensive to drive fossil fuel vehicles. Furthermore, diesel prices have been rising since January due to the review of excise duties, and Europe is working on ETS2, which will structurally increase the cost of fossil fuels in the long term. Therefore, the financial pressure on diesel is no longer a question of “if,” but of “how much.”

“In fact, fossil fuels are becoming increasingly expensive,” says Bloemsma. “That’s why we’re building a broad network of clean and affordable alternatives: Bio-CNG, HVO100, Bio-LNG, hydrogen, and electric charging. There’s no single solution; ultimately, it’s about a smart mix that will vary depending on the carrier.”
