July 15, 2026. The public transport company of Seville, Spain, has added ten articulated buses powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) to its fleet. These buses will increase service capacity, improve accessibility, and enhance the quality of service for Seville residents.
The Mayor of Seville, José Luis Sanz, presented the ten new hybrid articulated buses that have now joined the TUSSAM fleet. This initiative represents a municipal investment of €4,528,000 (plus VAT). This addition is part of the Fleet Renewal Plan launched by Sanz’s administration in 2023 to modernize the service and solidify TUSSAM’s position as a key driver of sustainable mobility in Seville.
The new vehicles are 18.73-meter MAN articulated buses, powered by CNG hybrid technology and compliant with Euro VI E emissions standards, the most stringent in the European Union. Each unit has 40 seats and standing room for 135 passengers, in addition to two spaces reserved for passengers with reduced mobility.
They also feature a continuous low floor along their entire length, three fully accessible doors, a ramp for people with reduced mobility, a lateral tilting system to facilitate access from the sidewalk, separate climate control for passengers and the driver, cold air curtains in the doors, LED lighting, rear-view cameras, and tinted windows that improve thermal comfort and energy efficiency.
