August 31, 2021. The transport company, based in Nova Santa Rita (Rio Grande do Sul), will invest more than R$ 100 million in this business and will prioritize sustainability with the application of the ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) concept in the management of the company and logistics solutions, which will be offered to its customers. Deliveries of Scania R 410 models are scheduled to start in the last quarter of 2021 and be completed during the first half of 2022.
“Reiter Log now has one of the largest gas fleets in Brazil and undoubtedly the largest in the southern region. It is a very strong logistics operator at the national level and has been committed to the search for a more sustainable sector”, says Silvio Munhoz, Scania’s Sales Director in Brazil.
“Our company has invested resources in alternative energies since 2014. We are committed to offering the customer a new form of transportation, much more environmentally friendly. It is a healthier project for the planet and future generations”, explains Vinícius Reiter Pilz, CEO of Reiter Log.
The transport company is also studying a possible association with GEO Energética, which is one of the main developers of solutions for the production of biomethane from organic waste from Brazilian agriculture. “Scania is the only manufacturer of gas and/or biomethane trucks in the country and we at GEO were able to develop a type of fuel that can replace 100% natural gas from fossil sources, thus providing a clean alternative for the logistical transport of the country”, comments Alessandro Gardemann, CEO of GEO Energética.
The model chosen was the R 410 in 4×2, 6×2 and 6×4 traction. For the moment, due to the agreements already signed, the natural gas fleet will have the main travel points in the Southeast and South, which should reach 10,000 km per month. The supply will be made in the stations of this network. The vehicles will be used in the food, beverage, retail, hygiene and cleaning, cosmetics, e-commerce, agribusiness, pharmaceutical and petrochemical industries.
