Surtigas presents private vehicle dedicated to natural gas

It contributes to sustainable mobility by running only on CNG, which reduces CO2 emissions by up to 30% and reduces the emission of polluting particulate matter by 90%.

June 29, 2022. Surtigas presented the Dongfeng sx5 dedicated truck in Cartagena, Colombia. With a Mitsubishi 1.6 DOCH engine, front airbags, a 451-liter trunk and 16-inch wheels, this innovative vehicle contributes to sustainable mobility by running only on compressed natural gas (CNG), which reduces CO2 emissions by up to 30% and reduces the emission of polluting particulate matter by 90% compared to gasoline and diesel units.

In addition to being a great ally of the environment, the Dongfeng sx5 truck represents, for those who operate it, several economic benefits: up to 38% savings in money compared to other fuels, 25% discount on income taxes and exclusion of VAT (19%) at the time of purchase.

There are currently 39 active CNG service stations in the departments of Bolívar, Sucre and Córdoba and more than 4,000 dedicated vehicles, the majority belonging to the cargo and transport sector that roll through the national territory, which increasingly consolidates the natural gas as a reliable fuel to drive mobility and development in the country.

With this new proposal for private vehicles dedicated 100% to natural gas, Surtigas seeks to reinforce its commitment to the objectives of sustainable development based on the use of clean fuels in private transport.
