Vibra carries out the first fuel delivery operation with a CNG-powered tanker truck

Vibra and Transportadora Moscato carried out the first fuel delivery operation with a tanker truck powered by compressed natural gas.

July 16, 2022. Vibra and Transportadora Moscato carried out the first fuel delivery operation with a tanker truck powered by compressed natural gas (CNG). The product was supplied to a Petrobras station in Salvador.

The conversion of the vehicle to CNG was carried out by Transportadora Moscato with the support of Vibra. With hybrid operation of diesel and natural gas, the truck emits approximately 20% less CO2 and 35% less NOx compared to the diesel-only model.

This initiative is in line with Vibra’s ESG strategy and the objective of reducing the emission of greenhouse gases in the transport of the company’s products, helping to decarbonize the activities of the company, its customers and suppliers.

“Once again, Vibra guarantees the safety and quality of the services and products offered throughout the national territory, combined with a strategy of lower carbon emissions. The company invests more and more in innovation to continue evolving its product portfolio, always seeking to offer better benefits to consumers, and that also implies carrying out our operations in a more efficient and sustainable way”, says Marcelo Bragança, Executive Vice President of Operations, Logistics and Supply at Vibra.

To bring fuel and derivatives to all corners of the country, around 8,000 trucks circulate on Brazilian highways at the service of Vibra, generating direct jobs for more than 10,000 drivers. They are monitored daily by modern technologies, which, in turn, are managed online through the Control Tower, which guarantees safety, efficiency and cost reduction.
