Foton will deliver 400 CNG buses to the government of Nuevo León

The heavy vehicle brand Foton closed a negotiation with the government of Nuevo León, Mexico, to deliver 400 new CNG buses to contribute to the modernization of passenger transport in the state.

July 26, 2022. The heavy vehicle brand Foton closed a negotiation with the government of Nuevo León, Mexico, to deliver 400 new compressed natural gas (CNG) buses to contribute to the modernization of passenger transport in the state.

According to the automaker, the vehicles will be gradually delivered to the local Mobility and Accessibility Institute in two batches that will start in October 2022 and end in February 2023.

The buses that Foton will provide will be of its AUV model, of which 200 will be 12 meters long and 200 will be 10.5 meters long, with the characteristic that they will facilitate passenger access to the unit.

In addition, they will be equipped with Cummins Euro 5 engines, they will be fueled with natural gas and will have an Allison transmission with retarder, which will provide sustainable mobility and a more comfortable driving.

The acquisition of these 400 vehicles, by the government of Nuevo León, will provide a solution to the demand for transportation to the city of Monterrey, which ranks third nationally with the largest number of inhabitants.

With these units in circulation, Foton will help improve the quality of life of future users, allowing them to have comfort and safety in their daily journeys, because part of the company’s commitment is to provide well-being to communities.
