November 23, 2024. President Luis Arce highlighted the planning for this year of 18 thousand free conversions of compressed natural gas (CNG), with an investment of more than Bs 221 million. Until October, 12,632 vehicles were converted with an execution of about Bs 84 million.
“We will strengthen our policy of reducing the emission of polluting gases and economic savings for Bolivian families with the planning of more than 18 thousand free CNG conversions with an investment of more than Bs 221 million during this year. As of October, we have more than 12,632 vehicles converted to natural gas throughout the country, with an investment execution of around Bs 84 million,” Arce posted on his social networks.
The conversion to CNG is a process in which a vehicle is transformed, through equipment and devices, to run on natural gas. The Entity Executing Conversion to Natural Gas for Vehicles (EEC-GNV) offers this benefit completely free of charge to vehicles from the public, private and state sectors.
