February 4, 2024. Ten benefits have already been granted through the “Do the math” Use CNG!” campaign to the drivers who converted their vehicles, starting to use natural gas for vehicles (NGV). The action, promoted by the Government of the State of Amazonas, through the distributor Cigás, aims to boost the local natural gas market, with the expansion of cars fueled with this fuel.

With this number of beneficiaries, the campaign already totals R$ 40 thousand in benefits granted. Each vehicle owner received a bonus of R$ 4,000 for conversion. There are still 290 bonds left. Cigás’ total investment in this initiative is R$ 1.2 million.

The Technical-Commercial Director of Cigás, Clovis Correia Junior, highlights the advantages generated by the fuel. “CNG offers several benefits, including being cheaper and safer. In addition, it produces fewer polluting emissions compared to other energies,” he highlights. In its third edition, the campaign “Do the math. Use CNG!” is aimed at the general public. To participate, drivers must enter the vehicle characteristics change process established by Detran-AM.

Subsequently, the car must be taken to a workshop accredited by Inmetro to carry out the adaptation. The vehicle will then be subjected to review and inspection. With the adapted unit, registration can be done through the campaign website.
