December 3, 2022. Sixteen 100% dedicated buses to natural gas will start operations for the first time in the Colombian city of Cali for special transportation. With the arrival of these vehicles, Valle del Cauca becomes a pioneer in the acquisition of environmentally friendly technologies in this type of fleet.

The built-in units are used for school, business, and tourist mobility, private events, and health services. They are identified with a white plate and are type B, that is, they do not allow people to stand.

Carlos Eduardo Belalcázar, Head of Mobility at Gases de Occidente, said; “We are betting on sustainable cities; the entry of these vehicles dedicated to natural gas for special transportation is one more step in the energy transition. From the strategic objectives of Promigas and its companies, we are working with renewable energy, energy transition and sustainability; dedicated vehicles contribute to the reduction of emissions, noise and gases that are harmful to the environment”.

The new 100% natural gas buses of the Golden Dragon brand, which will circulate in Cali, comply with the Euro VI emissions certification, the most demanding standard worldwide.

“At Promigas we continue to bet on the development of sustainable mobility; we believe that there is a huge opportunity to renew vehicles; today Colombia has the oldest fleets in Latin America in the market; That is why we are betting on the renewal of these vehicles, through a fund that we are going to create throughout the gas chain; we offer very important benefits such as a 20% competitiveness with respect to liquid fuels; a deduction of VAT tax and income tax; that is why for all businessmen this is one of the most profitable products they will have in their operation”; pointed out Michael Peñalver Castrillón, Mobility Manager at Promigas.
