August 5, 2025. FPT Industrial announces the launch of the first natural gas engines produced at its industrial plant in Córdoba, Argentina.
The NEF 60 NG, NEF 67 NG, and CURSOR 13 NG models are intended for applications including agricultural machinery, urban transport, and commercial vehicles, covering the on-road, off-road, and power generation segments. This launch is part of the path toward an energy transition and reinforces the brand’s multi-energy strategy.
Natural gas is one of the many alternative propulsion technologies available in FPT Industrial’s global portfolio. This cleaner fuel significantly reduces polluting emissions, improves air quality, and contributes to mitigating climate change by reducing CO2 emissions.
Carlos Tavares, President of FPT Industrial for Latin America, emphasized: “In Latin America, the solution begins with technologies suited to the region’s biofuel potential. Therefore, FPT Industrial is leading various projects as part of this multi-energy strategy, investing in natural gas and biomethane. It is a great pride to announce the start of local production of natural gas engines, one of the most significant initiatives for the brand in recent years.”
In addition to the environmental benefits, FPT Industrial’s patented stoichiometric combustion technology with a three-way catalyst ensures lower fuel consumption and quieter engines, eliminating the need to refuel with Arla. Complementing these advantages, the brand’s “Diesel Like” concept offers performance equivalent in terms of power and torque to diesel engines.
