Gasmig expands the CNG network on the roads that cross the state

Companhia de Gás de Minas Gerais (Gasmig) continues to expand its network of compressed natural gas (CNG) stations in the Brazilian state.

April 1, 2023. Companhia de Gás de Minas Gerais (Gasmig) continues to expand its network of compressed natural gas (CNG) stations in the Brazilian state.

The Barrigão station, which is located in Realeza (Manhuaçu district), began assisted operation and has been selling CNG since last week. Installed at a strategic point, at the intersection of BR 116 and 262, it is considered essential for the supply of natural gas to the thousands of heavy vehicles that cross Minas Gerais.

This is one more step in the CNG Corridors Project, an initiative of Gasmig, in strategic alliance with the Government of Minas Gerais, through the Secretary of State for Economic Development, to offer natural gas in the main federal and state corridors.

Gasmig’s CNG Coordinator, Welder Souza, explains that the start of supply at the new station on the banks of BR 116 and 262 fills the user service gap on one of the country’s main bare roads. “With the entry into operation of the Barrigão station, it is now possible for drivers using CNG to travel from Belo Horizonte to Vitória-ES. It is also possible to go to Governador Valadares, which also has a CNG station (Planalto II). Soon we will have the entry into operation of the Tropical station, in Teófilo Otoni. With this additional supply option, it will be possible to go to Bahia and make more connections with the Northeast”, he detailed.
